1st day in Rome

After arriving (despite the jet-lag) we had Mass, pranzo (lunch – excellent food), a tour of the seminary, had an espresso at a coffee shop outside the Vatican and then we visited the Vatican - St. Peter's Basilica! I had chills despite the hot weather & humidity. It is a wonderful experience to see in person the arms of Holy Mother Church opening wide to invite, welcome, and embrace all who come to Her. I am very happy and blessed to be here. Sometime this coming weekend I will be traveling to Lago Maggiore (far north of Italy) to begin an intensive language program.
