My first Fourteener!

Well, as a Colorado native and avid hiker you would think that I would have climbed a fourteener already. BUT NO! It took over 4,500 miles of backpacking, getting married, and moving to the flatlands of Wisconsin to get me psyched to hike up one of Colorado's highest mountains. This is my husband's annual family trip to Colorado and the first vacation without our dog in about 5 years, So, we finally have a chance to hike Long's Peak which is located in Rocky Mountain National Park. National Parks are not always too welcoming to dogs...as Pocky knows so well from the Pacific Crest Trail. We are hiking tomorrow, leaving at 4:00pm and driving to Estes Park to meet a buddy and camp out. We are excited and a little apprehensive but it should be a good time in some very thin air!
