We are in Seattle! After a very long journey we got picked up at the airport by Deborah & Brian. They had a sign for us, which I found particularly exciting – simple things eh?! They drove us back to their apartment which is just north of the city. On the drive they pointed out the Starbucks world headquarters, the Amazon headquarters, Interstate 5 (which Brian pointed out we could drive down if we wanted to go to Mexico), and the market stall that was in the opening credits to MTV’s Real World!!!
After not sleeping for a day, I was under the impression that there would be no problem in sleeping last night. How wrong I was! (This was, in part, due to me drinking 3 pints of water before going to bed!) I’m hoping that my excitement will carry me through the day – as all those of you who know me will agree with the following equation…

I think I am going to like Seattle a lot! We were met by the view of Seattle and Lake Union this morning – it woke me up a little (the picture does it no justice at all).
We are just about to head off into the city for a wander around and then are meeting up with D+B when they finish work to go into the mountains and play with bears n stuff!
