I woke up at 12:20PM. I was exhausted from last night's trip and the stress that came with it.
Going back to my flight ... the plane took off at 9PM and we arrived in Seattle at 2:00PM our time, a long trip. The plane landed very gently, as I wondered whether we're still in the air or have already performed the landing. So, the pilot announced that there wasn't any available gate for us to dock, we had to stay on the runway for 15 extra minutes. It was a lot of waiting for me. Finally, we got off the plane and were heading towards the luggage claim. The SEATAC airport has a similar layout to Pittsburgh Int'l Airport, two different parts to the airport from where you go through security and board the plane. My friend was waiting for me already, thankfully she knew that the plane was two hours late. (Abby, that rush for nothing. poo!) We hugged and were on our way to pick up my luggage. Thankfully, it was on the convier* with the first batch of suitcases. I was lucky. Few moments later I was in Tacoma, 20 or so minutes.
So, today Christine showed me around Tacoma. We went to eat at this great diner for breakfast. The food was delicious and the waitress was very amiable. Two reasons to go back there to eat =). After a great power meal, my friend and I drove me to show her university, the Univ. of Puget Sound. The campus was very quaint and little filled with many old-looking buildings. It has it's own feel and attitude to it, certainly. I took few fotos already which I plan on uploading them tomorrow, hopefully.
The weather was fantastic. NO HUMIDITY whatsoever. I could breath and enjoy taking in the crispy fresh air. I definitely had to wear some kind of a light jacket as it was somewhat breezy, for me.
Afterwards, we made a quick stop at home to grab few drinks and change, as we went to visit a local park by Puget Sound. How gorgeous! The weather, the sun, the Puget Sound, the people. It's like a very small beach where people come to relax, read books, go on hikes, sun bathe, and just appreciate the scenery. I was thrilled to be by the water and walking on the beach. My friend and I were very enthusiastic to talk about politics, environment, and just life in general. It was fun. While walking, I picked up few stones that some looked like little marbles.
Mt. Reinier overlooked this place, too. The scenery was amazingly picturesque and incredibly breathtaking. I could not get enough of the air and the sightseeing. We definitely must go there again!!!!!! =)I was constant at telling how humid PA gets in the summer time and how wonderfully I felt being here because of the weather. We actually created a joke that ..."even the trees sweat." Have you seen some wooded area where a small humidity cloud formes that you can actually see the mist of it? Anyhow, so it gets so humid that even the trees sweat =).
At 4PM we came home and watched Donnie Darko. What an interesting film!
Then, at 6PM Chad arrived from work. It was nice to see him again because it had been a year. I got to really get to know him during a few hours of talking and hanging out, as the only memories I had were "WOW, what a craze!" *memories of the last year's club times*
At 6:10PM we went to a mexican restaurant and had a great meal with lots of chips and salsa as an appetizer. Yummy. The venue was called "Chevys" which I found to be more of a TexMex. Then, off to see downtown Tacoma. It's not very big but has a few businesses and bars, etc. Christine told me that it had been originally planned to be the hub of the seaport and trade but it didn't progress as well as Seattle. So, Seattle holds a little higher place in ranking.
We came home and listened to various music and talked about things. I had such a great laugh tonight too. Life is just beautiful and I'm really enjoying it. It's 12:37AM (3:37A EST) so I must go to bed.
Tomorrow we plan on going to Seattle for a night out. Me and Chad are having a boys night out, while Christine is going to a concert with her friend. Then, on Saturday we're all going to a nightclub or some other fun venue. I'll stay in touch and try to upload my fotos soon.
