Hello one and all!! I have taken a step backwards only because I was so taken by this place that it would have been wrong for me not to come back! I had set up a reservation at a hostel the night before last and thought everything was cool. Eve and I had planned to go to the Uffizi before we seperated and before we both left Florence. Our big plan to wake up early kind of fell through due to a very quiet alarm clock but hey this stuff happens! We got ourselves together only to get on a bus ride around town that lasted 45 minutes...very tiring! After that we checked our bags and headed for the Uffizi!! I was so excited to get there!! My heart sank a little when we get there and the line is wrapped around the plaza completely and its only 945 or so!! We made friends with some people in line but the whole thing took 4 hours...yes 4 hours to get through and by this time I was already late to get to my hostel!!! I had to rush through the whole thing...but I made my self go back and look at the Botticelli room one last time before I left so it would be fresh in my mind!

I made it to my train but it too decided to take forever!!! Basically Katie was going to miss her connection to the hostel and be up a creek without a paddle once she got to Cinque Terre. I remembered what the girl in the great line of death told me about the first town in Cinque Terre so i just got off the train there and the was the angel sent from above!! MOMMA ROSSA!! Another traveler I had met on a train from Barcelona had said something about this wonderful woman so I went on the hunt for her and she took me in no questions asked!!! she is a great old woman and she thinks I'm from California...I think thats the only state she knows really! I met all the people staying with her and they actually fed me so I bought them a round of wine later that night...GREAT PESTO!!! Im in Pesto country and didnt know it!!

I had a great night out with some new people... watched the towns people gather to put on a puppet show for the local kids...It was all straight out of a movie and I didnt think these kinds of things really happened!! I guess I was wrong. I am going on a hike today so should have plenty to talk about by the next story! LOve to all!! Katie
