This wednesday I had my first official function at the Chamber of Commerce - together with the Swiss Chamber we organised a Business Club at the German Embassy. That was the first time I actually saw the embassy - it reminded me a lot of my old high school: the same concrete blocks and stripes of vivid colours. I wonder whether they employed the same architect.
Anyway, the theme of the evening was to resume the first 100 days of the new government and to give a perspective for the future. Therefore they invited an economist who“s in the opposition and one who works for the government. I wish I could tell you something of the content of the respective talks, but no such luck: I only heard half of it (we interns had the task of honour to take care of the cloak room, so I was rushing in and out) and didn“t really understand the other half. But I“ve been told it was interesting.
As I said, Vera, Jutta (who was kind enough to come) and I took care of the coats, and were properly rewarded. We got enough tips to go to a bar afterwards and invest all our income in the local economy - in the shape of sangrķa. Even though the waiter was surprised that they actually had that on the menue, it turned out excellent!
