Red Desert

2005-06-24, Alice Springs, Australia

Flying into Alice is like being back in California, except the desert out here has sparse trees and the sand is red. It is wintertime so you get the crisp day that is warm, but you can feel it ready to suck any warmth away at the first sight of dusk.

I went to the Alice Springs Reptile Centre today. It was awesome. I got to see Thorny Devils. They are so cool. They are very simliar to the Horned Lizards we have back in the states. I also saw loads of other cool reptiles that are indiginous to Australia. It was so interesting. I have seen some of them before, but they had loads of them. Back in the states, we can buy Blue-Tongued Skinks and Bearded Dragons. They were much better here. They had a bunch of cages that were loaded with baby bearded dragons. They were so tiny.

Next entry: 4th of July
