| | | We are going to move here! | | | | | We love this city! We were only planning on staying 2 nights and we just booked our fourth night! The city itself was the most fortified city in Northern europe so there are old stone walls and castles all over. It is also very clean and modern at the same time. We took a tour of some of the underground fortifications and splurged on a good outdoor dinner in the Place D Armes (the main town square) with a live orchestra. When we first saw the orchestra, they started playing "Stayin Alive" which made us laugh, but they did move on to more appropriate music and were quite good. The Luxembourg Reisling was tasty. Tomorrow is a national holiday so they are having a city wide party starting tonight where everything is open 24 hours and there is some type of torch parade and fireworks (It is the Grand Duke`s birthday tomorrow). Yesterday we took a side trip up to Clervaux which was the site of the battle of the bulge. We went into a tiny museum about the battle that was astonishinglz well done. It was packed with items from uniforms to propaganda leaflets for both sides during the war. Then we hiked up to the Abbey and met a creepy monk who must have been stoned. Afterwards we had some delicious pastries out on the town square before catching the train back to Luxembourg City. The country side is so beautiful here. We could be totally happy just taking a train from town to town. That is all for now. We will put up some selected pictures. Enjoy
