Last full day in Brisbane

Got myself a ticket to Surfers Paradise at the Brisbane Transit Centre today. The bus leaves at 13.00 tomorrow, Tuesday. I went for a walk around the outskirts of the City centre and Brisbane River. It’s a really clean and modern city with lots of nice skulptures, small fontains and parks. Skyskrapes reach for the skies while having small buildings in ‘old’ architecture style skattered around them at the groundlevel. The Botanic Gardens are filled with different and unusual trees and plants. The Brisbane Rivers cuts like a winding snake through the middle of the city and acts like a fresh counterpart to the always shining sun. I’ve got myself an Australian GSM cash card to make Internet calls with the Laptop. The staff in the shop said it would work and that I did not at all need any Data mode activated on the card. It doesn’t work with the LT, the fineprint (wich can only be rad after opening the pack clearly states that the card can not be used for Data Services :-( Typical.. Anyhow I’m gonna keep the card in my phone so if you like to call me the number is: (don’t know the country code for OZ yet…). I really wished I had an Swedish Ericsson phone and not a Nokia when I were in the phone shop. Its all about those brands down here too. I would have felt even more proud to come from Sweden… I’ve read up on Paradise Beach and think I first will go and check out the Mardi Gras International Backpackers Resort. The ‘Bilble’ (Lonely Planet Guide) lists it as ok. Besides a great beach, Surfers Paradise has a WATERLAND!!!
