At 9am, after about 6000 km, 110 hours spent on various busses, trains and trucks, 8 new stamps in my passport and 4 border crossings I arrived back "home" in Montevideo.
The city welcomed me with a rain of near biblical dimensions - which I find hard getting used to after 10 days of sunshine and being in the driest desert on earth. These 10 days had been the most interesting trip of my life - I´çve been canyons, giant cacti, colourful mountains, deserts, salt lakes, lunar landsacpes, ancient ruins and indian towns that look like movie sets. I´ve taken about 400 pictures (and that´s just the ones I didn´t delete), met lovely Argentinians and heard of so many more interesting places that I could happily spend years travelling around the continent and not see everything. South America really is amazing, and I´m looking forward to my next trip in July.
