Hi again, our second trip in Europe! Just love how everything is within a few hours from London. Don’t understand how the Brits cannot have travelled everywhere in Europe already, it’s absolutely fantastic.
Well, Hai’s finally got a weekend off and we decided to head off to Brussels for the weekend. Even though it was only 2 days, I don’t think I would have wanted to stay any longer. There wasn’t that much to do. We stayed next to the Grand Place which was very convenient. Heaps of shops and restaurants…oh and tourists!! I think there were more tourists there than locals!!
But I must say the food there is absolutely fantastic!! We ate so much. The chocolates were divine, then there were the waffles, mussels and how can I forget their frites with mayo. Geez, my mouth is watering thinking about it all. I think we brought home 3kgs of chocolates or something like that. All the nice praline types…yummmmm!! Must try the waffles from the waffle company, they’re absolutely out of this world.
We also decided to get on a tourist bus and visit Bruges, which is very very nice. The whole town is medieval and so rustic. It’s the type of place you think of in fairy tales, with horse carriages and swans. Very much recommend it. We didn’t have time to head up to Antwerp but maybe next time! Anyway, I’ll leave you to the pictures!
