Today we woke up and went down to a crazy french breakfast provided by the hotel we stayed at. The french consider breakfast to be half a baguette and a croissant....butit was free so what can you do?
I can't even begin to count how many baguettes i have eaten in this country. Today alone I had at least one and a half, and if you know anything about baguettes that is quite a lot.
Anyway back to the story. Ajaccios was ewpensive to stay in since there are no hostels there and we had to stay in a hotel, so we decided to move on Bastia which, according to Morgans book, was a little cheaper. Knowing we wouldnt want to stay in bastia for three nights (How did we know this you ask? Well Morgans book starts off describing it with the sentence "Bastia is a nice town but there is not much to see or do there") we wnet to the corsica ferries office and moved our return to Nice one day earlier. After seeing the Napoleon museum located in the house Napoleon was born in, we had a nice little lunch at a cafe overlooking the port. There we met a couple with a daughter in Montreal...we had an entire conversation with them in french...amazing how fast you pick it up.
Anyway, the train to Bastia was rickity and loud (hence the journal name)...but the landscape was beautiful...mountains and valleys. Some of the mountains were even snow capped. We found a nice hotel to stay in here then went out for dinner at a cafe...once again overlooking the ocean...we seem to do that alot lol.
