Well, after being the fourth day in Delhi now (we left Munich Monday afternoon/May,16th) I think its time to note down what happened the last days and what are our plans for the days to come. When we arrived last Tuesday morning we got picked up by Lawrence, a driver of the Canadian Embassy. As you’ve to know we’ve got the great chance to stay here at Claras house who is a friend of us working for the Canadian Embasssy. So we‘ve choosen this place to be our starting place for all the trips that we‘ve planned. Though we must confess that we skipped our original plan to travel through Rajasthan due to the high temperatures being far beyond 40 degrees in the desert right now. Instead we are going up to the north in order to be close to the mountains (Himalaya) were the temperatures are more standable. So, the plan is to leave Delhi tomorrow morning by train at 6.55 to Haridwar from where we will continue to Rishikesh, which is supposed to be not only a nice place but also the source of the river Ganges. There hopefully we will be doing some wild water rafting if possible and maybe some guided trekking tours. After that we wanna move on further to Dharamsala, the place where the Dalai Lama found its exil. As it looks today Clara is gonna join us for that next weekend in Dharamsala. So, but what did we do up to now here in Delhi. Basically we tried to recover from the change of climate – in Delhi we‘ve temperatures around 44 degrees these days. And of course we did some sightseeing already like the Lal Qila (Red Fort), the Gate of India and not to forget the shopping/commercial district including the shopping mile Janpath. Beside that we‘ve got an insight view of Claras Diplomat-life in Delhi like meeting her friends, visiting her favourite hanging out spots, joining her staff party this afternoon, visiting Club Canada (Swimming Pool at the Canadian Embassy) and having much fun at her houses rooftop terrace. But tomorrow morning the real India-experience is getting started. So, stay tuned for what will happen on the road…
