So we took a random train out of Barcelona to nowheresville France, to see what kind of trains we could catch.
we decided to go to Avignon, and hopped on the train. but it was a slow train that stopped at EVERY LITTLE TOWN and we were starving because everything at the last town was closed for some holiday so we hadnt eaten in forever. so when we hit Montpellier, it was in my book, so its not like we'd have been totally lost, so jenns like hey wanna get off here? and I said I dunno... so we decided to paper rock scissors. Montpellier won... except that we were already at the station and had to pack up all our stuff and get off the train fast! so it was literally rock. paper. scissors. Montpellier wins. look up at Jenn. Pause. SCRAMBLE LIKE HELL!!!
but we made it, and its a cool little town. theres a university here so theres lots of students around so people actually assume we're students most of the time instead of tourists! its a nice change.
Im so happy to get back to where they speak french. Im not very good at it but at least I can understand a menu and read train signs! it was so frustrating in spain not to be able to make even basic conversation.
We're thinking we'll go to Marseille next... but who knos really! we went to a little restaurant near our hostel last night and had a bottle of local wine. we're in the Langudoc (sp) region which is famous for reds apparantly so i got red even though I usualy prefer white but I actually really liked it.
This morning we walked around the main square here and I bought fruit from a little outdoor market. I was so excited to see fruit and filled my bag and it made me really happy and then I realized that maybe I wasn't eating the best if the mere sight of fruit makes me happy! its not my fault tho... baguettes are everywhere and crepes are so good!! I think Ill get a salad for lunch... yeah, thatll do.
anyways, everyone... write in my guestbook!!! also, if you want a postcard or a phone call send me your address and phone number in an email. even if you dont want a postcard or phone call send it anyways!
