Ohagan's - Irish Pub

2005-04-30, Pretoria, South Africa

O’hagan’s is a franchise Irish pub here in South Africa. The service and atmosphere are fantastic, as is the food and drink. They have these snack platters that you can either order for 2 people or for 4 people. Lou, Julie, Zoe and I only just get through a snack platter for 4 people. They have chips (French fries) chicken strips, spicy meat balls, fish bites, crumbed mushrooms, ribs and mini samosas (which are called koolie cookies here – which is a slang term). They also have an alcoholic drink here that is called a Dom Pedro, which is milk based with a choice of liquores like frangelico, khalua, and amarula. Even though I am not a fan of milk at all (in fact it makes me feel ill), I tried a Dom Pedro and liked it (I paid for it later by not feeling crash hot – being lactose intolerant).

Anyone visiting South Africa should definitely visit one of the many O’hagan’s franchises. You will be greeted at the door by friendly staff and will be given impeccable service.
