We love Cinque Terre!!!

Anybody coming to Italy must spend, by law, at least two nights in Cinque Terre. Your pocketbook, belly, and eyes will love it. We came here with two guys from florence thinking that a room would be super expensive, but we managed to find a full apartment that had private rooms for seven people for 60 Euros a night! This became an even better deal when more Florence people came by at dinner and stayed the night.

For those who don't know what Cinque Terre is, here is the 5 minute spiel. Cinque Terre is a national park containing five towns (hence the name) they are all really small and connected by a train line and trails.) Each of the towns is cool in its own right. Monterossa is the town for beaches. Vernazza is fancy. Corniglia is perched high on the cliffs). Monarola is quaint. Riomaggiore is for people without reservations (us). All the towns were great though, with only Monterossa having more than a couple hundred people.

Yesterday we hiked between all 5 towns (about five hours- 12 km) up and down a lot of hills on top of narrow cliffs, if we ever actually find a computer that our camera hooks up to, maybe we will show you some pictures. Today we are hanging around and exploring the towns, we will be leaving tonight on a night train to Venice.
