Bertie took Julie & I on a little tourist trip around a small part of the North West Province.
While we were in the North West Province we saw the Hartbeespoort Dam, we drove over the wall and noticed huge amounts of blue green algae that workers were attending to. While stopped at the traffic lights waiting to cross the dam wall, we were greeted by street sellers offering their goods at special prices. We had an array of African curios, nuts, millies (corn), cumquats, avocados, oranges, coat hangers, garbage bags, mobile phone accessories and children’s toys.
We then went to the windmill which has been turned into a produce shop on the lower levels, and a second hand book store and café on the upper level. The thatched roof inside the building was just beautiful. And the view from the upper level stoop (balcony) was superb, it was a slightly foggy day (late morning) because of the fact that we are so high above sea level, the mist seems to hang around longer in the day
