Just got up just under an hour ago at 3:30pm. Had a few hostel antics last night which were....um well.....a bit odd and laugh-out-loud-able.
Adelaide was the first city I arrived in last year totally alone. I knew people in Sydney and Melbourne so it was a bit strange when I got here but I loved every minute of it. Did loads of walks and explored the area, admired the views and generally chilled out in my own company.
Upon getting back here this time, once again I am strolling around the streets in a laidback haze. None of this speed walking trialled and tested in Sydney and Melbourne. Can't help but 'float' over here; it's impossible to walk fast. And there's hardly anyone on the streets, some of them almost being like a ghosttown. The roads are all 6 or 8 lanes wide which brings about no congestion whatsoever but there's not much traffic anyway. Well, that's outside, how about inside.
A bit colder yesterday with black skies but 'floated' streets and, for some reason, bought a CD player dead cheap from Woolworths so I could listen to music in the garden. Then the Japanese and Eric, my Swedish room mate turned up. We're in 'The Cave' a 12 bed dorm but now there's only the 2 of us in there.
Don't really know how it happened exactly but Yuko, one of the Japanese girls, was saying that Eric was going to strip. Found out later that he said he would do this if he drank more than 3 beers that night. He didn't apparently, but after getting on the quality Coolabah cask wine, anythings possible. Both, Yuko and the Japanese guy, Masa, tried to rip my clothes off outside (yes, it does sound scary but I handled the situatuin admirably). Eric, Masa and I then took it in turns to dance on the pool table (it's free pool as well) doing a pretend strip tease. Except it wasn't totally 'pretend'. I'm dreading the photos and I can't find the Japanese today.
Pretty funny actually, but I don't remember buying the packet of Cheetos that were in my room this morning. Am pretty sure I remember everything else - I hope! Should I have written this? Who knows but don't let your immagination run riot. Nothing else happenned, or at least I don't think anything did.
