Arrived back in Sydney 2 days ago and went over to Kings Cross to meet up with Sarah (who was in the hostel in Northbridge before) and Beth who was in Harriets in Darwin as well as Madchester Andy. They're all cool still. Picked up my camping stuff and flew to Perth yesterday on a very turbulent-free 5 hour flight.

Elvira and Marlien were there to meet me and drive me to the hostel which was cool. Ãããah this keyboard is really wierd and goes funny when I try and type double vowels. Weird! Staying in a place just around the corner from where I was before in Northbridge only 10 minute walk from the city. Really nice place and more people are here from the hostel in Darwin. There's Elvira, Marlien, Tony, Marek and Mignon. We are all travelling together to Sydney apart from Marek who is staying. Some people from the hostel are coming with us if they sort out a relocation camper too. Bush camping, can't wait, loved doing it before!

Elvira's car is really cool. She has a Ford Falcon which she and others have hand painted and stuck 3cm high plastic people all over the roof plus the super glue tubes. There are even hand prints of little Tony from Harriets on the boot. We're going to buy some lights and put a Christmas tree on the roof. I'll have to take some photos soon.

Anyway, we all went to Kings Park yesterday and had a walk around. There was a concert on in the evening so we couldn't get to the fountain but climbed some spiralling tower with views over part of the park. Found out later Brian Wilson (of the Beach Boys I think) was playing there and Elvis Costello tonight.

Had a few drinking games last night and then went out to an Irish pub. I only stayed for 2 drinks as I forgot how expensive Perth is for drinking. $6.50 for my first pint and $7.50 for the 2nd. Robbery! Hostels are dirt cheap though. I've never seen it so busy in Northbridge either. The pavements were rammed! Then again, I never really went out in the evenings and was here in March/April. Still really like Perth and have noticed a few changes such as buildings going up, buildings completely vanishing plus the cool Internet place being completely taken over by the crazy Karaoke rooms from next door.

Off to the Sunday Session tonight at Cottlesloe. Never made it there when I was here before. Basically it's live music in a couple of the bars there overlooking the Indian Ocean and the beach.

Feels so nice to be back in Oz. I've, rather unwittingly, somehow managed to put Marek off going to NZ as well as a few others. Oops! They'll probably still go though. Can't let my experiences in NZ stop others from going.

Next entry: Wine tasting
