Left the guest house and made our way up the coast. The entire family came out to wave us goodbye as we left. Drove past fields thousand shades of green being tended by people on conical hats ... even the scarecrows have conical hats here! Grey mountains in the background topped off with dark rain clouds, yet to our right, bright stretches of sand and terquoise sea, the sparkle of the sun occasionally broken up by a fisherman in a upturned turtle shell shaped boat...
... and wearing a conical hat.
Finally made it to Nha Trang, and made a discovery. A long long time ago, beer in England was served in glass mugs with a handle and little square windows so that the beer could look out. These were then replaced by boring straight glasses that slip out of your hands when they get wet ... or your a bit worse for wear. Well, I can exclusively reveal that they were all exported to Vietnam and are alive and well (and seemingly reproducing), and are being used as tea cups. Incredible ... irrelevant even ... but true! It´s the little things that make this journey so interesting.
