Hey everyone...
We got to Singapore alright. It's great having time to rest and enjoy ourselves.
The first thing we noticed about Singapore is how incredibly green it is. The freeways are densely lined with beautiful green trees and the road is divided down the centre with baskets overflowing with blooming flowers. The overpasses are always covered with ivy to hide the dull grey concrete. It is clear that this is one of the governmentís priorities.
Another interesting fact is that 10% of Singapore is reclaimed land and they are still going. I wonder how far they will spread into the sea.
Yesterday we hit the shopping plazas and learnt how to really haggle. It's amazing how much some of these guys will try to get for out of date electronics. An ignorant tourist is such an easy target, not that I fell victim of course!
Last night we had a beautiful dinner in Clarke Quay then went on a bum-boat ride. Singapore is so beautiful night. Today Alex and I got to experience something completely new. We had brunch at the Fullerton Hotel so much food and so little time. Bottomless Moet champagne, Japanese food, roasts, bacon and eggs, omelettes made in front of your eyes with anything you want in them. It was exciting and sickening at the same time.
We found a Coke vending machine where you could get a coke if you didn't have any coins. All you had to do was SMS the machine and it deducts the money from your mobile account. Cool hua?
Tomorrow we plan to go to the night safari, then we have one more night in the luxury of the Nobes' residence and then its off to Tokyo. Have to say I'm a bit terrified, but can't wait to be lost on our first day there, which is inevitable.
Slag to you all
