Long time - no write...but here comes a report again.
We are back home! In Sweden. I decided it was enough to travel in Australia. Been there – done that… It was also nice to get home to my parents and get some help with Malvina. Just nice to take a shower alone for example…
Well before that we rented a camping van for a week...first day we (I) drove down in the ditch, later backed into a tree…and also it wasn’t to easy to be alone with Malvina when cooking, making the bed, etc. Or just go out too pee (need to carry her with me). After a VERY cold first night I drove a bit to warm up the car before breakfast. After breakfast we took a walk in the National park that we had camped in…I noticed that the van was leaking oil. To make a long story short…we came back to Hobart with a tow truck (bärgningsbil) and then I “gave up” the rest of the week. We could get a new van but I decided I had enough.
We stayed a few days when I arranged my flights. I had been thinking...instead of traveling around here in an expensive, western country I will go back home. Stay with my parents for a while and maybe later go away again. Back before the snow disappears. So we flew back to Sydney. I made probably 20 calls to find a hostel for that weekend. It was, among other things, the Mardi Gras parade. We stayed in a hostel in Kings Cross the first two nights. (Then we changed hostel and had our own room). We had an upper bed in a 6-bed dorm. :o) I got new energy when staying there, with nice people so I was almost thinking to leave to New Caledonia (which was my first plan). But kept to my home going plan.
First night (Friday) we joined the BBQ on the hostel. Saturday night we checked out the Mardi Gras parade. First out was over 400 motorbikes with first homosexual women and then homosexual men. Then we had a day with Eva&Emil that we came with from Sweden.
We have been back home for a few weeks now. No bigger travel plans. It’s just nice to be home. Have been a lot in Halmstad and also in Gothenburg and Lund. In 1,5 weeks we will go to Poland with work (Malvina will come to). And in May Gaël comes to Sweden for her birthday and then we go to France with him to visit her relatives.
It’s LOVELY spring weather her. But we were luckily back in time to play in the snow. Malvina can now easily walk when only holding one hand. Any day she will find out that she can walk alone.
