todays agenda was to expore kowloon city. after that take the road to wherever it led. i did just that. exiting lok fu MTR i walked the streets (lined with cemetaries and decrepid buildings- just my cup of tea!) all the way to a charming small temple perched on a small hill above an intersection. after pushing my way up the steps and smelling the strong incense i continued on down past the walled city park, and deep into kowloon city... trading HK signs for thai grocery stores and the wonderful feeling that i was almost back in bangkok. i then took the long smoggy freeway path down to where the notorious old airport stood, venturing into sealed off parking lots and alleys to sneak photographs. what followed was a complete maze of streets, markets, stalls, smells, sights and suddenly i was in hung hom.. about 3 hours later. exhausted. i took the KCR up to mongkok, popped in to buy SIDEWAYS and a headed home to eat some shrimp shau mei and crash deep on the couch. possibly the longest walk i have done thus far in Hong Kong, and definately one of the best.
