With graduation coming up this friday I figured it was about time I posted some words and pictures about Ohama Junior High School the second of three junior high schools that I am/will be posted at.
Ohama is about the same size as Ryonan, 200 kids in each of the three grades. For the most part I just teach the first and second graders, averaging about 14 classes a week. The kids are a mix. Some of the classes are incredibly well behaved but on the other hand I have broken up two fist fights in the middle of class, something I didn't have to deal with at Ryonan. I've been visiting with some of the after school clubs, baseball, softball, tennis, judo, and basketball, and that has given me an opportunity to get the know the students a little better.
I took a trip back to houston a couple weekends ago to see chanel's recital. She did a fabulous job and we got to spend a lot of time together. She'll be coming out to visit me in May -- and speaking of visits my parents are coming in about two weeks! They'll stay with me, I'll get to show them around, and we'll take trips to Tokyo and this year's World Expo near Nagoya.
