We are on Feejee Experience, starting out the second day. Today we are going trekking through the rainforest, tubing down a river, and swimming at a waterfall.

On the 13th, we left from Beachcomber Island and went to Nadi Bay Resort. We got an air-conditioned room which was a good change. I sat out at the pool most of the day. Jenn, Aliza, Maggie, Jen, Richie, and I got dinner at the restaurant downstairs. I got chicken a la scampi with prawns, potatoes, and veggies. It was really good (and expensive $15.50 FJ).

On the 14th we started Feejee Experience. Our tourguide John explained the trip we were embarking on and we took off for Natadola Beach. The water had the most beautiful colors. John said that the beach is going to be taken over by a Hilton hotel soon which is sad. The untouched beaches are getting to be fewer and fewer.
I layed out, swam, and made a great starfish sand sculpture. There were a lot of local men trying to get people to take horse back rides, but the horses were just so skinny it seemed wrong. We ate lunch and then put on our sulus (sarongs) to go to a village.

We arrived at the village and all the kids ran up to the bus to greet us. They gave us flowers and whosever flower you accepted became your tour guide. A 14 year old boy named Joses became my tour guide. He showed me the main bure, the houses, the church, the water well, the new school being built, and the chief. All the children were so excited and cute.
After the village, we went to Sigatoka to go sandboarding down the sand dunes. It was challenging just to climb to the top but the ride down was worth it. It was just like body boarding and sled riding.

Next we went to the Crow’s Nest hotel. We swam in the pool that night and got dinner at the hotel restaurant. I got lobster bisque with garlic bread. It was alright, but I probably wouldn’t get it again. We slept outside under the stars because there are so many out here (and because we didn’t get A/C). I saw 2 shooting stars, the southern cross constellation, and other constellations upside down.
