Hello!

Last weekend I had the awesome opportunity of going to Prague! Lisa Chandler and I set off for our journey on Wednesday afternoon, not a clue what was in store. We took a bus from Kaunas, Lithuania, through Poland, to Prague. It was a 24 hour bus ride. It took me back to my junior year of highschool…oh the ride from Wisconsin to Florida. Driving through the countryside of Poland was so beautiful, it almost reminded me of Wisconsin, many farms, trees, and some hills. Beautiful.

We reached Prague a couple hours before we thought we would, stepped off the bus, and journeyed to find our hostel. It took us awhile to locate it, and were relieved when we could finally take off our backpacks (they get so heavy!). We stayed at the Imperial Hostel, which felt like a 1920’s Hitchcock movie. It was very cool, they had a jazz café in the bottom of the hostel.

Prague is the most beautiful city I have been to…the buildings are amazing. Lisa and I took the All-In-One tour from Citywalks, which is definitely worth going on. We saw everything in Prague in 4 hours. It was great to hear the history and explanations of the architecture. Lisa and I were very excited to be in a more “Westernized” town…it felt like we were in America for a short while. We even indulged in a huge TGIFriday’s burger and fries (yes, they had a Fridays!). It was so refreshing to see diversity, hear many people speaking English, and see so many people smiling!

Well, that was my trip to Prague! It was amazing…but feels good to be back in Lithuania!
