We feel the coming of a new day
Darkness gives way to light a new way
Stop here for a while until the world
The world calls you away

Ecuador recently celebrated its annual 2-day Carnival holiday. The festivities consisted of parades, beauty pagents, dances, and getting each other wet with water balloons. I really don't get the "getting each other wet" bit, but that's what Ecuadorians are really into.

The beauty pagent consisted of the crowing of three queens -- the Hispanic Queen, the Quichua Queen, and the Shuar Queen. Check out the pictures.
