my Fun adventure of going around India began. I saw all the wonderful sights in mu guidebook and had a very kind taxi driver who spoke no English. The Famous words of India are: “ Yes, please? No, Please. This is the answer to every question. Lodhi garden: Similar to that Central park and the Arb with an tropical flare. There are several path for the jogger, walkers, and dog walker. Throughout out the part are exotic plants, flowers, birds surround by man made pools of water, with fountains that have been unkempt. There were several Tombs there and long with a beautiful stone walking bridge. The Lodi garden is very peaceful place with in the busy city. This seems like a fun place to make a movie.
It brought my great peace. I was able to be independent
National Museum of India.:
This was a circle museum. There were so many things housed ousted. Piece of Art work. Most of the time of nature or very natural things are outside. This was a very knew concept. Much of life and things are going on are outside. I feel in India everything is outside rather then always being in a building. There were several galleries each housing a different aspect of India culture. The museum seemed to get bigger and with each step more rooms emerged with in a room. This is by far the best and the most interesting museum that I have seen in my life. India art to me is purely captivating and wonderful to look at and become lost in the beauty of the art. The galleries included: decorative textile, fabric, art, arms and amour, marine life, India wall painting, musical instruments, manuscripts ect. It is amazing a whole gallery dedicated to fabric. It was not just any fabric. The fabric was enriched with decals ans huge picture of life.
The nice thighs about going the museum it help gives picture to what life was back there. Then that can be applied and I can image what life was like at all the Forts, temples ect.
Bohai temple. In the shape of a Lotus flower. I wish picture where allowed inside, but it was not. It was a place for pray and medtation. Nice pool of water surround the flower to enchance the beatuy and was a part of the natural cooling system. Bohai accepcts all races and religion to worshp the creature of the universe and to express love bwtween god and man.
India Gate was interesting.
Some female of the street approached me and did some Henna. The girls/ women ask me if I were mairred. I met one girl who was !0 years old and married and the other had babies two and were very young.. They had never been to school in there life and could not read or write. I was shocked to find ut marriage so young. The 10 year old was not a child. When speaking with her. She had no innocents left to her. It ia very common to sell your daughter off. Usually to an older man of the age of 30-40 who has been divorced. Claims he will take good care and give her an education. It not really true. The reality of it is, what I knew but didn’t want to know. A 10 year old having Sex. It is called “Marriage Rape”. It happens to girls even younger then 10. It they have no say and no place to do anything. Poverty is so bad that children are sold for as little as 10 dollars. This girl was young and uneducated I could tell she was very smart.
Indian. I was to take picture of the beautiful and the not so great. I want to know about all the people and more then just the famous landmark. I am not afraid to ask question. Learning this about the young female dearly sadden me. India, I cry here all the time. I am learning that I am not the only one this happens. After getting my Henna decoration, pigtails and bare foot walking around Dehli is felt great, like I was becoming submerged in the culture. Become India. Not India in the physical sense.
Getting out was great because, I got to see several traveler and I spoke to few or said,”HI”
Other palce I went were. Purana Qila, Raj Ghant Gandhi memorial, Rashtrapati, Humane Tomb.
While walking in Delhi and seeing the sights. In india one must have patience. I had several men take my picture at least 10. Cameras are IN MY FACE. EVERYONE IS IN MY FACE. Men are purpose brushing up against me touching me, some shook my hand, and did the left hand joke up me. They approached and would surround me in-groups. They even were try to make it look like they were not taking my picture. I even was truing away from camera picture. I was followed as I would walk the sight area. I just wanted everyone to leave me alone. There is no space. I feel disrespected. This is the only things that truly upsets me being a Women. I am very sensitive. I was at a fort. I hopped the fence like everyone else. Two boys followed me. They said” I love you!? Kiss me please. They begged me forever. Told me I was breaking the India law and I had to turn around and go back with them. Everyone was hopped the fence. I was alone on the path, but not fully along. There is no use for Reason and there English is limited to anything sexual. Once I was back at the Main entrance. They asked me to follow them. Yeah, right. I got the hell out of there. I endured all of this for several hours. This is all happing in public tourist places. By the time I got back to my India host, he placed a hand on my shoulder and I Freaked. This is the only things not good about India.
A taix driver told Harsha that if I had enter the Rickshaw along he would have charged me three times the amount. He mentions that it is pay back time, since we took everything from his country. The British took everything from India. It didn’t matter that I was American. He said, you all come from the Same Ancestors.
While at the Food court. I met Ola from Finland. He was heading to Arjuna beach in Goa and had been trveling In India for 6 monthes. He brought lots of music and bought spekars. Goa is a prty place, but he feels the parties of the past are dying. He wanted to start a party and he was bringing all the right stuff with him to make one happen. He came and sat down with me at lunch, while he was waiting for his Train. It was nice conversation and I told him once I reached Goa, that maybe we would find each other again. In Goa theer is a placed called Beam me Up Soya specializing in Tofu and Tempha. Goa sounds like a place for me. Another note on that. The is so much vegetarian food here. Yummy Veggie burger. It is nice because everyone place has something for the Veggie. There is such a great assortment of Food. Lost of Thai, Chinese’s and India. The best. Dish that they don’t even server in the States. My friend frm Andrea made comment, that there should be a Universal Supermarket. I agree. There is so much out there in the way off food, they people don’t have access too.
I have arrangement to come back To Delhi and to Up into the Mountains I feel that I will want to stay in Goa, but my train ticket is going to be purchased. I will arrive bac home in Michigan around Mid March. Expect a Journal entrée in three days when I arrive To Goa. Love all. Shiva~Moon
