The title says it all. We have just arrived. Got in late last night, a packed plane so we were relieved to get off. Walking out of the airport, a wave of heat, humidity and smog hit us - and that was at 1am! Waking up this morning the pollution was unbelievable. We took a trip in a tuk tuk and my (Sasha's) lungs are now full of a noxious black substance. When we got in, we took a taxi to the traveller's area, Khao san road and found our guesthouse, it is a few blocks away and it seems to be in a good location, still close to the action but far enough away from the noise and stench! We went off to a giant market today, so big that we got lost within minutes, but it was all good fun, and we picked up some good clothing bargains. The heat here is super oppresive - it forces you to take your time and relax and sit back and have a drink or you'll go insane. Just sitting in our newly bought fishermans pants in this cool air conditioned internet cafe is a great relief from the smog outside. We have a few more things to do in Bangkok, but we are both keen to head south so we are organising our train trip now. Hope you are all well,
