Landed in the country I wanted to visit since I was a kid (many years ago ;-) at 05.30 local time (9hrs ahead of Sweden). After spending a month in Asia it felt very much like coming home when I travelled in a Taxi into the city centre area. Nice to be in a “western” society again. The air-plane was cold and I coughed a lot on the way down here. When I finally checked in to my room I went for a long nice sleep. No cockroaches or fan that made me cold :-) I woke up at 14.00 and went to the doctors office. There I got some cough-medicine and penicillin for my bad throat and cough. I also got my foot X-rated. This was just what I needed. A western standard treatment. I reckon I’ll be free from the cough within some days (although I need to take the penicillin for a week) and tomorrow I’m meeting the doctor again to look at the x-rays together with him. I’ve already looked at them and read the summary from the doctor who x-rayed me, it said I did have some swollen tissue but no underlying cracks in the bone. That’s really good news. Anyhow the doctor was kind of surprised that I even could walk. In a few days I hopefully can walk without limping. After everything was set with my healing issues I went for a stroll around town. Found an Internet place, bought an electricity contact converter for my European-style contacts and some fruit and cheese. I also went to see the movie Unbreakable. Really good. Worth checking out. When I got back to the hotel-room I got a call from Stefan Turlock in Sweden. He wondered what was up with me leaving Bali and not being there when he comes for a two week stay. I really regret missing this chance to meat him. But it was still really good to talk to him. (Just vad jag behovde efter att ha tyckt synd om mig sjalv i ett par dagar Stefan ;-). He mentioned that he enjoyed looking at walkaboutdaybook.com. Hopefully I’ll be able to give him more value for his visits in the future, now that I’m on my way to recovery… Australia feels really nice. The climate is just perfect. Not as much humidity as up in Asia but still warm and cosy, even though its raining season. By the way, I also bought me a new shirt and got myself a shave. Tomorrow I’ll go get a haircut. All in my post-sickness spirit.
