robbie and sheryn came bursting through the front door at 11am, waking hangovers and fears in an instant. the time to wake up and head over to moose and gemma's house in shing juang had come. three weary heads walked downstairs and piled into a taxi to head over to the ghetto area of taipei... the taxi got lost, we finally found it, the room was cosy.. a nice tree, a good spread, cheers-if not tired- faces sitting on couches, the boys watching some bizarre hiphop videos in the other room, we ate, toasted the morning with champagne and strawberries, did the secret santa which was super cosy, then ran to cabs to make it over to the shannon in time for the lunch.
the traffic was hell. we made it 5 minutes late to an extremely forgiving pub. the tables were set and we ordered christmas lunch... 2 hours passed... food (mainly awful)... conversation (mainly sleep focused).....yawns and glances and it was time to head back home to relax and catch up on last nights sleep.
eight o'clock rolled around, the tv was still on, i woke up and headed out with john and jared to find some food.. we headed to gonguan and walked in vain for 30 minutes looking for places that were all closed or run out of food.....it started raining... we headed in a cab to shida to try alleycats.. they were closed... we headed back to taipower station and found grandma nitties was open late.. by now hunger was leading the way and the food tasted good to hungry stomachs and bland and oily after a few mouthfulls....never again. the balcony, however, was nice and afforded a small glance out onto the happenings in the street.
a pub next, then home by cab to a warm bed and "clerks" while sipping glenfiddich ... a peaceful end to a strange day
