and the season to be merry has begun. PS cafe christmas eve party, drinking coronas and chatting with erik and brent at the corner table, watching people pour in off the streets, the night closed in and we were tucked in. the sense or feeling of christmas is somehow lost in taiwan, though all the streets and employees are decked out in christmas colours and cheer, the feeling seems lost in a slighty warm, smoggy asian city. there is the sense that people know what christmas should look like but not feeeel like. everything seems like a cheap immitation, a reason to spend money for an unknown cause. that aside, we had a good time regardless of the lack of christmas spirit on the streets, staying late into the night and taking a cab home at 6 am with a cab driver who loved rick astley..... and so we sang 80's hits all the way back to jong he as a reluctant sun rose over the river and hurt our eyes....
