Up bright and breezy at 5am to walk up in the pitch black to Poon Hill (3193m) to watch the sun rise over the mountains, following the snake of torch lights up the hill. The stars were out and as the sky turned to a dark blue we saw shooting stars zip passed and satelites glide over us. Then the horizon started to turn red and the mountains began to emerge from the darkness.
Made it to the view point where, sipping our teas, we watched the tips of the mountains turning from red to orange to yellow, shadows crawling from slope to slope. It was all turning into a bit of an amateur photographer convension, with people playing camera super trumps. Gradually decided to decend and saw the flights to Jomson flying below us, skimming over Ghorepani and diving into the valley on the other side.
Andrea had a cold and had almost suffocated trying to get to the top so we called a time-out and spent the rest of the day by the fire teaching our guide the delights of Rummy.
