Crazy loco crazy

Holy guacamoly.

Iīve just been to the hospital for an injection to make my heat rash bugger off (not bad but simply a precautionary measure) and on the way back there was a car accident right beside us. Roads are muey dangerouso. Then one of the drivers started having a heart attack. Because he knew what was going on (and the state of emergency services) he just hailed a taxi and hopped in (WHILE HE WAS HAVING A HEART ATTACK). This was crazy and a bit loco to me.

Today and tomorrow iīm alone with Connie (the costa rican group leader) while the rest of the group does a six hour hike up a steep mountain. Sucked in I say..hehe. My foot has healed completely except the group didnīt think it would be smart to push it that hard so quickly.

This morning connie and I did some painting on the communication tower. Itīs almost ready to be erected already! This arvo we are going to watch a video at a girls house who is a red cross volunteer. Then later weīll go fishing, followed by dinner and drinky poos at somebody elses house. You guys have to understand that an itinerary like this is absolutly outstanding in Panama. Most people donīt have walls let alone video players, so i am pretty excited.

Itīs been a massive few days. Yesterday we went to a very poor community and had christmas celebrations for their kids. It melted my icey exterior. The kids were so beautiful and happy for so little. We made them a pinata and when it was time to bust it with the stuck, bedlam broke out. We had to form a circle to make sure they didnīt destroy it before they were supposed to. We stayed their untill just after sunset and then headed off. All 12 of us in the back of a van, with seating for 3.

The night before we went to a christmas parade that was out of controll. Their was about 10/15,000 people involved, in a city of around 20,000. The effort that was put into everything (floats, costumes etcc) was unbelievable. What a sense of community eh? Even more suprising was that no one was drunk or caused any mischeif. I donīt know that it would be similar in OZ. Some of us went around doing first aid, and others just watched from the side. There was people everywhere, yelling and laughing and grabbing at the lollies they were throwing from the floats. Panama knows how to party guys. Anyway, youīll see the photos when i get back.

Once again iīm bloody tired, so iīm off for a siesta.

Peace out friends and family. Love Jules.
