Musical Roadblocks

2001-11-16, Kali Gandaki, Nepal

More cruising and a few rapids, but not enough to keep us happy ... especially as we were beginning to get better ... coordinated even. Came to a confluence in the river where we had to drag the rafts up and meet the bus. Found out that one of the crew members had been hassling the Danish girls ending up with a high speed introduction of knee to groin situation.

Bus journey from hell involving pot holes, boulders on the road, bus races and sheer cliffs. There were also musical road blocks manned by singling children demanding money and stoning the bus if the driver didn't pay up. A few people on the bus asked the driver to slow down, but the staff were drinking again and one of them (the one holding his groin) expressed in no uncertain terms that we should mind our own business. Fortunately the driver wasn't drinking ... but there again I don't think he was allowed as he only looked about 14.

Managed to get back in one piece, though Andrea was a few handbrake turns from re-introducing bits of goat into the bus.
