Chennai in the rain
I have come to the conclusion that I don’t like large Indian cities and Chennai was to be no exception ... and it was raining.
Out of cash, I had to go half way across town to an cash machine leaving Andrea in the train station with the bags. By the time I got back she had been accosted by a load of beggars and was about to get a proposal of marriage from a Christian evangelist.
Decided to book our ticket to Kolkata and then the Nepal border now to make sure we got a place, before going to see the temples of Mamalaporum. Queued .... queued .... and then found that the train was full, but we could get tourist quote .... but not at this station. Rickshaw .... queue ... queue ... hoorah, a ticket .... only took us 3 hours!
Miserable and cold and wet we decided to stay in Chennai instead of going to Mamalaporum and catch the train the next morning. Let’s have a look around the shops in Chennai .... oh ... they’re all closed.
It’s still raining.
