Bonjourno!
Good day everyone!! I just wanted to do a quick journal entry to let you know how my 10 day Italy trip is going thus far. I have been on the road since Thursday Nov. 11th and have loved every bit of my experience.
I will only touch on the highlights, as the Internet is rather pricey while traveling. Right now I am sitting in Rome, Italy. The past couple days have been chalked full with amazing experiences. Today was the culmination of my stay in Rome. We explored the Sistine Chapel (I DID NOT want to leave this place), I climbed the heights of St. Peters Basilica, Took a stroll by the Spanish Steps and also the Trevi Fountain and tonight I plan on seeing the city while eating a gelato or grabbing a pizza :-)
Yesterday the group explored St. Peters and St. Pauls. I had a stop by the Coloseum, which we had seen the day earlier, but I had to see it again!! Walked through the Roman Forum, past the jail where Paul was held prisoner, Venezia Square, and the Plaza. I can not tell you how much fun I am having in Italy!!
Before Rome we had a short trip in Venice which is absolutely spectacular. I wish we would have stayed longer, but maybe I will go back to Venice for a weekend trip before the semester winds down.
The future Italy plans include a trip to Assisi tomorrow and Wednesday, then we are off to Florence and a side trip to Pisa! This trip is FLYING by!!
I realized today that in one month I will be back home. I am loving every minute here and think of you all very often. I can not wait to tell you all of the stories personally when I return home. Love you all!!!
