Hello everybody!!
Sooo, finally a new travelupdate!! I'm sorry but I just didn't have the time to post something, because I had an essay to finish and it took up all of my time... So, what have I been doing since last time??
First thing was Halloween. That was Sunday 31st of October. Apparently people here take it very seriously, dressing-up-wise I mean… There was a guy who made a Robbie Williams outfit himself! He made the Kiss-Let me entertain you outfit, he looked hilarious! And Michael, from trampolining, dressed up like Peter Pan, complete with fairy dust (I needed 2 days to get it out of my hair..). There was also a guy in a bunny outfit, with a skirt and boobtub and everything!! Mindy and me had to make some last-minute arrangements, so we just had devil-horns and I painted my lips black with eyeliner (Hey, you gotta do something...) But it was a great night, loads of trampolining people were there and we had a great time!!
The week after that I finished my 2nd assignment and trampolined a lot, because that Saturday was our first competition!! We practiced on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and Saturday was the big day! We had to be at the bus stop at 7.45 am whoooooo too early!! We arrived in Glasgow at about 9 am. Then we had our warm-ups ad stuff, and everybody was getting more nervous by the second... But once it was over we all just had a laugh and watched the experienced people do their stuff. In our club there are 2 advanced and 2 elite bouncers, so we also had something to cheer for!! I came in 12th in the intermediate category, out of 33, which is pretty good for a first time I reckon... And the 27th we compete again, so maybe I can improve my score then.
We left Glasgow at 5 pm, and went straight to O'Neills, an Irish pub in Stirling that sponsors us. We had a few drinks and loads to eat, we were starving! Some people fell asleep, but later that night most of us went to Glow, the on-campus bar/ dancing and we once again had a great night!
The week after that, I got really stressed over my 3rd assignment. It was due this Monday, so that left me a week to finish it... and I thought I already did some constructive work, but it turned out I started out wrongly and had to start over... Aaaaah stress!! But luckily, I finished it yesterday evening so I handed it in in time. I'm not completely satisfied about it, but I think it will be a pass. And the system here passes you if you get a 50% score, so I should be fine!
Last Thursday we had a cowboy-night for trampolining. We had Enigma tickets to sell, so we thought we'd dress up to boost sales. Bit of explanation: Enigma is a nightclub in Stirling, which sponsors us with tickets. They give us tickets to sell and we get to keep the money, as long as we go there that night. That means they get customers = sales and we get money for our club plus a great night out!
So we dressed up like cowboys, went on to the streets of Stirling and sold tickets... Sales weren't going that good though, so we decided to fool around, having shoot-outs and stuff, and have a few drinks in the bar we were standing next to. Turns out that bar had a surveillance camera pointed at us and the staff apparently wetted their pants watching us... mwoehahaa!
When we finally got to Enigma, we were all psyched up, in cowboy-mood yeeha, and pretty inebriated (read: tipsy) as well... And it wasn’t too crowded, so we pretty much had our own private party!! Whoohoo!! Once again, a great night!!
But really, partying is not all I do, I also read a whole book this week: 530 pages and as I said, I finished my assignment. Now I've got 3 weeks left to finish my business plan (due December 6th), and learn two exams (December 7th and 10th). And then I'm done! And my flight back is December 21st, so I'll be back before Christmas. But I can only return to my room by New-year, so that's when I'll be back in Grunn City again.
So, this is all I've been up to since my last update. Next weekend my parents are visiting and the weekend after that Marijn! And then it's some quick studying for my exams and finishing up my last assignment. And that's it already! Then I almost have to go home... On the one hand I want to but on the other hand I wanna stay here. It would be great if I could take everything and everyone here back home, so I wouldn't have to miss anyone/ thing. But sadly, that's not possible, so I'll just be reversed homesick for a while ;)
