Hello there from Pai! A beautiful place up in the North of Thailand, the kind of place you could stay forever. Last couple of days in Chiang Mai were nice, tried to go and see shaolin monks on Sunday but unfortunately couldn't find the place they were doing the performance so ended up going out with the boys to watch Liverpool play in local bar which was fine though did really come here to get away from that. The last day was another lazy one up at the pool which was cool not every day can be action packed! went to the night market at night which sells everything you could possibly need and got a few bits and bobs like a nice fan for all those non-air con moments, of which there are many. Left for Pai on Tuesday a public bus full to the rafters winding through high mountain roads, got to pai and discovered cool, quiet, chilled place that would be easy to stay in for a while, staying in cute little hits down by the river with lots if gardens and nice communal area to go and chill and take a nap etc. We met up with some peeps from Chiang Mai here who had hired motorbikes so went for a day riding on the back of them saw hot springs and waterfalls and so much gorgeous scenery all from the back of a bike which is the best way to do it. In the evening went to this bar with live music but no dancing aloud as it didn't have licence, we decided to break the rules and got everyone up and dancing, at the end of the night got a lift hime on the back of a policemans truck as his wife would not have a group of girls walking home on their own. She was the sweetest woman and kept hugging us, think she was a bit tipsy herself! Just been chilling a bit last couple of days doing some reading, going to a yoga course and stuff, also there is a mini cinema in Pai, you hire it out for 1 to 6 people and choose a dvd to watch. It was so really comfy, didn't feel like Thailand at all. We watched findng Nemo ate popcorn and felt like I was back in my living room in Leeds all we needed was blankies.
