About two weeks ago (three weeks ago?) we took a trip to Stonehenge and Bath. I've not much to say about Stonehenge; the pictures speak for themselves. It was really cool; incredibly too touristy though (I shouldn't talk, being a tourist myself). Bath was beautiful; my friend who used to live in Italy said it reminded him of Italian towns. If I came back to England ever, I would spend a couple days in Bath. The Roman Baths were interesting enough, but the town was just gorgeous. It's also nice to have a picture in your head about things you read about in books (for example, all of Jane Austen's novels take place in Bath).
Speaking of things in books, did I mention I live 10 minutes from the Thames river??
This past weekend, we went to Chatsworth, which is an estate owned by the Duke of Derbyshire. It was absolutely incredible, and I am soo happy I got to go! The place is currently being used for a new shooting of Pride and Prejudice. The gardens were my favorite; everything seemed like a fairyland! We went through a hedgemaze (losing someone along the way!), and saw a brilliant rock garden (who would ever think to have a rock garden!? It was amazing!). The house was huge and in top condition, but I enjoyed being outside more than inside the house. The front lawn was sweeping majestically with herds (?) of sheep. It was wonderful. Look at the pictures!
