Our flight from Osaka to our stopover in Brisbane was largely uneventful, with the notable exception of our descent into Brisbane. Jonno’s ears didn’t clear, despite numerous lollies and help from Ms. Gracia. Our group was quickly escorted through security while the airport staff tried to help Jonno. Unfortunately, their efforts were in vain, and Ms. Gracia and Jonno had to stay in Brisbane and take the overnight train back to Sydney. They still managed to have an enjoyable quick trip to the Gold Coast beaches before catching their train.
The rest of us could barely contain our excitement as we made the quick trip south to Sydney. We easily cleared immigration and collected our bags, including the box containing the armoury. Customs took a close look at our foam num-chucks, wooden swords and Kendo sticks but eventually let us continue on without confiscating anything.
We were met on the other side of the gate by parents, siblings and loved ones. After many hugs and kisses, we said our goodbyes and headed off to our homes, happy, contented and full of stories from our wonderful ten days of travel and explorations.
