Today's the day I get to do the Tongoriro Crossing (one of the must do's on my list)..... or not. Yes you've guessed it, bad weather stops play! Oh well, never mind, there's always MT Taranki later in the week. So it was back in the car for a 4 hour drive further South to Inglewood on the edge of the Egmont National Park.
Mt Taranki is the volcano featured as a backdrop in the film The Last Samurai (with Tom Cruise) - it supposedly LOOKS like MT Fuji in Japan. I'll let you know when the clouds lift and I get to see it!!!!!
