The Town of Sagunto!

2004-10-15, Sagunto, Spain

Sagunto is the beautiful place where I attend school. This little town is off the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. It is part of the Valencia Province. One of the main landmarks of this town is a well-persevered Roman Theater. In addition to the theater, Sagunto is home to a beautiful medieval fortress.

Though the town is small, it offers several festivals throughout the year and it boasts a rich history and culture. The first event that I attended was the Festival of the Moors and Christians. This fiesta reenacts the rivalry between the Christian and Moorish soldiers during the Reconquest. Last week, we celebrated the medieval history of Sagunto during its Medieval Festival.

If the history of castles and soldiers is too much for you to handle, you can run to the beach and enjoy an afternoon bathing in the sun and taking in the warm Mediterranean breeze!
