Second stop, the cook islands, we arrived on sept.23/2004 at 6:00am after a 2 hour flight from tahiti. When we got off the plane the weather didn't look that great, it was cold and starting to rain, second bit of bad weather since we started our trip, but we were hoping like last time the rain would only last an hour. We booked our accomidation at Vara's before we left Tahiti and they were to pick us up at the airport and they did. We we supposed to be in their double room with shared facilities but somehow we got put in there self-contained suite which was nice cause we had our own kitchen and bathroom and laundry -it was great, nice soft bed....it made up for the bad weather. On our first day we didn't do much just got cleaned up and did laundry and sorted out our stuff so it was alright that it rained.

The next day we went into town and looked in to going to some outer islands, we decided on Aitutaki. We also decided to stay in the Cook islands for only 2 weeks instead of 3, not much here, the island is pretty small. After we changed our flight and bought tickets to Aitutaki we checked out the beach, nice beach, kinda tough to compare after coming from bora bora but still a very beautiful place. We were at Muri Beach -popular place, shallow water( waist deep), walked out to a little motu and hung out there for the day until the weather started to change -started raining later in the afternoon.

The next day we rented bicycles and rode into town and checked out the town market, lots of people there selling there stuff, had some good food, looked around for a while but it was getting too hot. We decided to go snorkeling at a place called Fruits of Rarotonga, supposed to be the best place to go snorkeling. Saw lots of fish but the place was really busy so not to much visability. We hung out there for the day then went home to pack our stuff up, cause we had to catch a plane to Aitutaki the next day. Our plane didn't leave until late Sunday night so we hung out on the beach, went snorkeling and just trying to waste time. There is not much to do on a sunday, almost everything is closed on sundays here, we found that the movie theater was open so we saw a show, Walking Tall. This was great, we haven't watched any T.V. or anything like that in awhile, needed some entertainment plus it wasted almost 2 hours. We made our way to airport and flew out. more to come later -my internet time is running out. bye
