Sydney to Tokyo…

2004-09-27, Tokyo, Japan

The group met this morning at Sydney Airport at 7:15. Everyone was well-organised and ready to go on time. Although the check-in staff did their best to make things challenging, the group was too excited to be bothered. After a tearful goodbye, we made our way through customs smoothly and painlessly. We took a quick look through the shops on the other side before boarding our plane. It seemed to be no time at all before we were airborne and high above Sydney.

The food in the air was actually not bad, and there were plenty of movies and games on the in-flight entertainment system. Although it was a long flight, it wasn’t that bad.

We landed and cleared customs easily. We were met outside the airport by a big orange bus that was extremely clean. We arrived at our hotel at around 8:30 pm.

We went straight to a traditional Japanese restaurant. We had to take off our shoes and put them in little shoe lockers with wooden keys. Our group ate noodles in a small room with sunken tables.

After dinner, we went back to the hotel for a well-earned rest. Tomorrow, on to the adventures!
