after wasting another day sitting at villa de pai with the italians and the girls the slight need to justify being awake came in the shape of a short motorbike ride to a temple viewpoint. mauro, an israeli guy i cannot remember the name of, heidi and i left. the rain had ceased, we drove past peaceful fields and playing children, we drove the wrong way, then the right way... we stopped the bikes and looked ahead at the 200+ steps to the top. no problem! i did 6600 in taishan, this is nothing.... but it was.. haha.. days spent in pai, and vang viene had taken the last reserves of adrenaline and energy and turned them into a wonderful euphoria felt at the hands of sleep and relaxing. life could do whatever it wanted around me, just as long as i could sit, talk, watch movies, drink beers, and move only if needed.

the temple was conquered. the israeli guy and i coming in last... exhausted... we found a peaceful temple like any other temple in any other place in thailand, yet it was special because the view was phenomenal. we stood awhile, a monk tried to get money out of mauro, we left, drove back into town, had a slap up meal in the cosy shanti shanti restaurant, went back to villa de pai, then to ting tong for some drinks.... then to bamboo again where the party was RAAAAAGING... people off their tits everywhere and waiters laughing at the mayhem. we sat until almost sunrise, enjoying the view, the sounds, the company and the spectacle.

then it was back to the ever accepting pillow and blanket. wow

Next entry: more screaming israelis and even drunker italians
