5:45pm Iceland time (4hrs ahead)
Well I arrived in Iceland in one piece...too bad my luggage did not (arrive that is). Apparently there was a fire alarm at London Heathrow and my bags did not make it onto the plane to Keflavik, but I was told they should arrive tomorrow, fingers crossed. Getting of the plane was an experience. We got to walk right off the plane, down a set of stairs and onto the tarmack...it was so unbelievably windy, it practically took my breath away and it was almost strong enough to hold you up. I am now on my way to Reykjavik on a bus that cost 1100 ISK which I think is like close to $20 Canadian...I'm gonna have to get used to this currency. The landscape is very desolate and barren and its very wet and windy right now. Roads seem to disappear into all the fog. I wish I could get a picture, but the weather is not going to cooperate. I really hope my bags arrive tomorrow cause I really want to change...at least they gave me a toiletries kit at the airport. I just noticed that there are no trees here...just grass and rock. I hope that when I get to the school I will be able to find my way around and get settled into my room. The trip has gone by surprisingly quick considering I have been flying for close to 10-11 hours. It sucks that it's so rainy and foggy. I wish I had a better view. Oh well, I still have 4 months here.
