as soon as we landed at the airport, it became instantly apparent to me that this city is really neat. the main city of puerto princessa, in the island of palawan is by the beach, there are no tall skyscrapers but in it's place are towering palm trees laden with coco-nut fruits. the sky is so blue and the sun so warm and yet there is this cool breeze blowing from the ocean that keeps you comfortable. the roads are paved and the sidewalks were all clean. i found out from our guide that by law littering of any kind is strictly prohibited, violators will be fined. gotham's bloomberg can learn a few things from hagedorn the mayor of this city. all the people co-operate to keep it clean. the people were all friendly, they speak english in a sing-song accent reminiscent of my cousins from dublin. they seemed eager to talk with the tourist be they japanese, germans or brazilians as long as some english is involved. this place is so green with gardens all over the city surrounded by lush hills and valleys.

Next entry: An island in the pacific
