Today after classes, which were interrupted by an alarm due to a gas leak, I decided to skip Québec music class and go to a river, where we could swim and cook out. The river was fairly difficult to get to, but it turned out to be well worth it. It ended up being about a 45 minute walk from the school through lots of dense foliage and a muddy trail. The river itself was amazing. There was a sand beach and tons of waterfalls with rapids. I was able to walk around on some of the rocks and go as far as you could without having to jump in and swim upstream. I couldnt believe how few people were there, but it made sense considering the degree of difficulty getting there. It was a real surprise for me, and I didnt even think to bring my camera. I had never seen anything like in, and Im sure there are few spots like it in our region of the states.
