Hi chappies,

Quick message to say everything is groovy here in Tabriz. I'm staying with a guy I met on the bus and his wife and have eaten dinner with both their parents! Traditional Iranian food which is pretty delicious although it plays havoc with the knees because they don't have any chairs as such, all meals are eaten on the floor...

Traffic here is mental, I think they drive on the right but its hard to be sure, there are no signals as such, no actual rules, e.g. in a taxi it is the norm to stuff two people on the front seat (without any seatbelts of course) and if the traffic is heavy the driver will drive the wrong way around the roundabouts, or maybe use the pavement....

I will probably be in Iran until the end of november and then head towards Pakistan, and make a dash for Karachi. Istanbul was a funky place - would have liked more time there but my visa for Iran expires on the 12th of December and I need to save money buy travelling in cheap countries. Good luck with the interview Megs and I hope everybody is having a good time, not drinking too much (Louisa) and that you will be thinking of me in a country with no alcohol, drugs, traffic regulations, and soon no food during daylight hours :( oh, and there's no such thing as toilet paper in Iran, it's a jug of water and your left hand - tasty!
